I am still amazed when I get free stuff to review from Influenster. I recently received my second “try and review” product – Benefit Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer. While I don’t really have many undereye creases or lines, I have a seriously hard to cover blue vein situation so this was exciting.
First Use: Benefit Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer
Upon first application, I had a serious case of deja vu with Boi-ing Cakeless concealer. Sans the perfumey-cleanser smell, I could have sworn I was using L’Oreal’s Infallible Full Wear Concealer. Both are lightweight, need a light hand to apply, and wear really well. But are they true dupes? Let’s find out!
Is L’Oreal Infallible a Dupe for Benefit Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer?

Given the similarities in texture and application, I looked at the claims of both the Infallible and the Boi-ing:
– Full coverage (both)
– 24-hour wear (both)
– Transfer-resistant, fade-resistant (Infallible)
– Waterproof (both)
– Lightweight, doesn’t cake (Boi-ing)
– Anti-aging (both)
Do They Deliver?
Full coverage: I would say that both cover VERY well, but I wouldn’t trust them to cover a tattoo. You be the judge:

Length of wear & transfer: Who wears concealer for 24 hours? That said neither seems to fade at all during a typical day. However, after about 30 minutes of wear, I gave my swatches a good rub with my fingers. You can see that the Infallible faded substantially while the Boi-ing largely stayed put. Ironic since Infallible was the only one claiming to be transfer and fade resistant.

Caking or creasing: Did my undereye area look super young and smooth? Uh no. But, neither made my situation worse. Promise kept!
Shade range: Boi-ing has a pretty paltry range of 12 shades. Shocking considering this is a full-coverage product where a match is critical. Infallible has a wider selection at 25.
Feel after application: Boi-ing wins here. It dries down very quickly to a silky, almost powdery feel. The Infallible stays tacky for several minutes. I am okay not setting the Boi-ing where I need to set the Infallible.
Scent: Boi-ing beats Infallible again! If you inhale deeply, Boi-ing Cakeless has a slight permanent marker odor. On the other hand, Infallible Full Wear has a strong odor that I can best describe as cleanser-like… sort of perfume-y and slightly chemical.
Cruelty-free status: Neither Benefit nor L’Oreal tests their products on animals however they both sell in mainland China.
Cost: This is where Infallible blows it out of the water. At $22 for 0.17 ounces, Boi-ing more than twice as much as Infallible which is $9.59 (current Target cost) for 0.33 ounces. However, if you look at the cost per ounce, Benefit Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer costs $129.41 per ounce compared with $29.06 per ounce for Infallible.
Bottom Line
While it’s not an exact dupe, I would go with the Infallible hands down. Unless you rub your undereye area frequently, can’t stand the smell, or are strongly opposed to setting your undereye area, it’s a much better option from a cost perspective. With normal, everyday wear, I just cannot tell the difference.
Do you think these are dupes? There are so many full-coverage concealers on the market lately – Which ones are your favorites? Let us know in comments!
