It Was A Normal Morning

It was a normal morning. I woke up, attended to His Lordship and M’Lady’s needs (feeding the cats), showered, made my coffee, and checked social media. Every morning, something inevitably piques my foggy-brained interest. Today it was the power of azelaic acid and how it can help symptoms of rosacea. Thrilling, right?

I (digitally) moseyed over to Amazon to check out their supply of this miracle-working product when was smacked in the face with this:

Suddenly, my perceived need for a $13 bottle of azelaic acid vanished. My mildly bothersome rosacea was nothing compared to the staggering need of literally thousands of people. People who have had every bit of their normal existence completely stripped away in a matter of days.

So, while it’s not much, I took that $13 and instead purchased a couple of much-needed items from the Grand Bahama Disaster Relief Fund’s list. On September 13, Amazon is sending two Prime Air cargo planes full of both donated and customer-purchased necessities to the Bahamas to aid in the relief effort.

Whether it’s through Amazon or a different effort, if you are able to help, please do so. The extent of the need truly hits home when you see basic items like underwear and baby wipes are greatly needed.
